It’s a motley crew.

Our cat count has changed yet remained consistent. When I was in college at The Women’s College of Brenau, I adopted a wee little lamb of a tuxedo kitten, Tefnut, from the Human Society of Hall County. She reached out her little paw through her cage and I was done. Baked goods.

Bert my husband, boyfriend at the time, was the proud owner of three cats of his own; Fido, Anonymous, and Begheera. That meant four. Then there was Loki. Loki locked her dewy eyes on Bert during a pet adoption sponsored by a cat rescue group and Bert was In Love. So our crazy tortoiseshell Loki came home. Tefnut was not impressed.  Unless you call wanting to kill and eat her being impressed. … Loki DOES look like a Reesees Peanut Butter Cup. Tefnut was then and ever after separated from the rest of the free range kitties.

Several years later, after we had lost our sweet Fido and manly Bagheera, I accidentally fell in love with twin orange mackerel boys at another pet rescue adoption fair. I was only there to get flea meds for the other kitties. But that’s how love happens. WHAM. Remus and Romulus came home.

And here we are. Romulus is our epileptic baby and Tefnut has a serious lack of the social graces necessary to thrive in a multi cat home. Loki is a lunatic. Remus just tries to hold it all together. Bless his sweet little orange heart.
